The Law Dawgs and
Pistoleros of the Olde West is a California non-profit organization
established by volunteer historical re-enactors dedicated to the
preservation of a period of United State history commonly known as "The Old
West." Re-enactments of authentic and historical Western history for
the time period 1845 through 1895 are performed for the public at large,
historical societies and foundations, the California State Parks, and public
and private schools.
The Old West re-enactments
include, but are not limited to, the following historical events:
Confrontations between lawmen, outlaws, and townspeople; range wars between
cattlemen, sheepherders, and farmers; family fueds and the history and
operation of the three main methods of transportation during the 1800's--the
stagecoach, wagon and steam driven trains.
In portraying these
historical events, the Law Dawgs and Pistoleros of the Olde West use
original or reproduction firearms, gun leather, clothing, hats, boots,
saddles, horse tack, and other period equipage and accoutrements of 1845
through 1895 at locations utilizing steam passenger trains, mounted
horsemen, stagecoaches, historical buildings and town sites.
